Our puppies
|
We believe the final character of a dog is largely decided in the first weeks of his life, and are therefore firm believers of socialising our pups to the maximum of our abilities.
All litters are born inside the house, so that, from the first moment in their lives they are exposed to all kinds of sounds, motions, smells, etc... As soon as the mother allows it, we let them mingle with the other dogs, in order for them to become social.
We developed our own program to give the puppies the greatest advantage in their crucial first 8 weeks. Combined with selecting the best of the best bloodlines ensures for the most time self-assured, independent and high driven working dogs.

Sporting Dogs
|
We are primarily a K9 working dog kennel who specializes in the breeding and training of FCI pedigree working line Belgian Malinois. We train dogs in Belgian Field Work and Belgian Ring, as well as security dogs, guard dogs, protection dogs, SAR dogs and police dogs. Our breeding program produces FCI pedigree puppies with strong working drives and very stable temperaments.
On top of this we pay much attention to the appearance of the dog as well, which means we want good-looking dogs within the breeding standards.
Of course, this has some implications: - a good working-dog has to be kept busy, mentally as well as physically. Whether you use our dogs for security, herding, or any other sport is of no significance, as long as they have a job to do. If so, you will have a perfect and enjoyable companion. - our dogs excell in all sports, whether it is canine flying disc sports, agility, obedience, Belgian Field Work, KNPV, Mondio, Belgian and French Ring, Schutzhund, IWR, etc... - our dogs are stubborn, because they have high drive, and intelligence. This also means that once they know something, they will do it, regardless of the circumstances. - they are athletic and fearless... They will easily jump a 12' fence (on command), and will perform their duties, regardless of the distractions (food, gunfire, fire, or any other threat) - they are extremely protective of their family-group (the owners, other dogs, and especially the children of the family)
If you decide to do shows, you will get very good results (one of our females was even selected for Crufts...), but be aware you will get some remarks (one of them will be that the ears are too big for a show-line).
For people interested in a dog for the home environment, our dogs do very well with small children and are friendly and stable. They are suitable as obedience trained house dogs.

Security Centre
|
It is our firm believe that dog and handler, in security, should work as a team. There has to be a bond between handler and dog.
Therefore our whole concept of training security-teams is based on that bond. We will train young dogs up to the age of 7 to 12 months in obedience and security ourselves, after which we feel it is necessary to introduce the dog to its future handler, and to finish training with both handler and dog present. This unique concept has proven itself by establishing teams, where the dog will perform any task required, and at the same time protect his "loving" handler fiercely.
Of course, experienced handlers (like K9 swat teams, and armies) prefer to train the dogs themselves, to prepare them for specific tasks.

Other sports
|
We firmly believe a happy dog is a dog with a healthy mind and body, and which knows its place in the group he/she belongs to. Therefore all our dogs, regardless of their breed, do some kind of sport. Which sport does not really matter, as long as the dog and of course its handler enoy it. We have trained dogs in agility, flybal, canicross (although the owners must admit the dog enjoyed it more than they did...), and this way came across a sport which is now are biggest passion.
Canine Flying Disc Sports, aka Dogfrisbee, or simply playing frisbee with your dog... How to describe it? Difficult, it goes from simple distance throwing where your canine partner has to catch the disc in the air and bring it back to you, to the most crazy antics conceivable (summersaults, chestvaults, backvaults, knee-vaults, etc...), all performed while catching discs while they were in the air.
As far as we know, this is the only sport with your dog where you really form a team and the dog is not obeying you, but playing with you.
We got so hooked on this sport, we actually were World Finalists for 4 years in a row (2005-2008), and helped to judge the World Championships in the US in 2009. We took a raincheck in 2010 due to our move, but will be back competing in 2011.
This sport can be played with any breed (except very short-nosed breeds, due to breathing problems)
